Different Ways to Learn - Contributing to Your Excellence

Online Learning

The Home Study Certification program’s foundation is based on our ten “day” video series. Privately accessible on our learning platform, you have the ability to follow the skills from beginner to advanced techniques, and learn both the theory and practice of the subconscious mind and hypnosis.

The information within the videos covers a variety of relevant subjects in areas that give you a depth and breath of knowledge that will be immediately applicable at home and life, and valuable in a work or practice setting. In our group learning program, two weeks are generally allocated for each day.

Group Classes

Our hybrid format gives you the opportunity to learn on your own AND have the dynamics of a classroom. Our class sessions will delve deeper into the material and make sure that you and your classmates understand the theoretical background as well as the practical subtleties.

This is an opportunity to discuss, ask questions, practice techniques, present findings and results, and discover a group of individuals who are on the journey of unearthing the power of the mind. Class will be held each fortnight (every 2 weeks) during the program.

One-to-one Sessions

Graduates often have said that this is where some of the ‘magic happens’. Unlike most courses, you’ll have personal sessions with your instructor to learn from the “hypnotist’s hypnotist”.

What’s the difference between a Hypnotherapist and a Consulting Hypnotist?

This is something we’ll discuss once we’ve started the course. The difference between the label of Hypnotherapist, Hypnotist and Consulting Hypnotist is one that is followed due to local legal restrictions of occupational names. No matter the final name, our high-quality and thorough training is the same for all.

How long does the course take?

The timing of the course is up to you. While it could be done in as little as 10 days, our hybrid class with occur over a period of 10 weeks, so that’s approximately one day per week – usually accessible with busy people. We have had students whose schedules have been upturned by major events in their lives, which is understandable and workable within the training structure.

What are the advantages of the Hypnotherapy Home Study course?

You have control over your time. You can work through the program as quickly or as slowly as you need. You can work around the other important things in your life. This is a course that works on YOUR schedule.

You can learn anywhere. Wherever you choose to watch the videos and practice, you can do it. If you have a busy travelling schedule, you can bring your classroom with you. You can meet your instructor wherever you are at the time.

This flexibility allows you to be in charge of your time and location – two areas that you’ll continue to have control over once you have successfully graduated from this class.

What are the challenges of the Home Study program?

The Hypnotherapy Home Study program is for a special sort of person. There is a certain amount of self-direction required as you won’t be part of a group and will need to set your own schedule. While you’ll be working with your instructor throughout the entire process, you’ll be in charge of keeping track of your own hours and schedule appointments when you are finished each day. For the practice component you’ll need to find your own volunteers – usually that’s quite easy as once people know you’re learning hypnosis you might have a line of people who want to be your next ‘victim’! Wherever Grey Matter Network has graduates, we’ll connect you with the network of helpful and supportive therapist for you to practice even more.

How do I watch the online videos?

You will need a monitor with sound so that you can watch the classes. This is where you have flexibility to use your time in a way that suits you best. Videos are generally segmented in 1.5-2 hour sections, so you can watch part of one at a time, a complete segment for a couple hours or watch the whole ‘day’ in one go. While you are watching the videos you will have accompanying material that comes from the additional digital material – both textbook as well as handouts that you’ve downloaded.

For each day there will be a comprehension ‘test’ that shows you have watched the whole day – this needs to be submitted when arranging for your one-to-one session with your instructor

Who do I practice on?

Practice is an important part of the class and there will be ‘assignments’ where you need to find someone to work with. While you can practice on ‘invisible’ clients (and practicing processes yourself is a great idea to build up muscle memory), you’ll get more immediate feedback from another person.

Usually when our students mention that they are taking this course, friends and family will line up to be ‘practiced’ on, so finding volunteers has never been a problem with home study students to date. Because of our wide network of hypnotherapist and consulting hypnotists around the world, should there be a Grey Matter Network graduate in your area, you will have an opportunity to connect with them – these grads are not only successful but generous as well.

How do I schedule one-to-one Sessions?

Once you have completed watching each ‘Day’ and have completed and sent in your comprehension test for that day, it is time to schedule in your online session.

We usually do sessions with zoom but this may change with your accessibility and comfort level.

You will contact your instructor prior to the session so we can make connection and arrange for a time to chat.

Usually the session will last about an hour. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, go over parts of the class that may need further explanation, review your experiences, and assess your progress. If you have recorded any ‘sessions’ on video or audio, please send them before the session so there is time for review before we meet.

What will I be able to do with hypnosis after this course?

Our goal is to give you the tools you need to help a wide variety of issues for individuals and groups using hypnosis. Many of our graduates start businesses that focus on Hypnotherapy and Hypnotism in their home town – while many choose to work full time, others can select their hours to work around other priorities in their lives, because this work allows for you to designate the amount of time you’ll allocate to working in this field. Others add the power of the subconscious mind to their existing careers to augment their tools and resources.

The course builds on previous knowledge learned in earlier days, so we request that days are done in sequential order.

The investment for the complete program is only US$1996– this is well below the cost of in-class training of this caliber. Do I need a degree to take this course?

No. A degree is not needed for this course. We will give you the basics of hypnosis and the mind and move through more advanced therapeutic methods during the course. If you do have a focus, life experiences or a degree, there are usually ways of applying this previous know-how to the work you’ll be doing in the course. Upon successful completion of the course you’ll be awarded membership into the Grey Matter Network International “Family” of therapists.
